Quite a few people have shown interest in the elements involved in the ASP Apparel logo design, a personal sigil created by Ashley S. Palmer.
The main elements in the design utilise the Golden ratio.
The golden ratio (denoted by the Greek letter phi) is an irrational
mathematical constant, approximately 1.6180339887. It has been employed
by many artists throughout history for the aesthetically pleasing effect of the proportions of the ratio when applied to design and geometry.
Proving to be a source of intrigue for thousands of years, the golden
ratio is even found in the architecture of places of historical
importance and beauty such as Stonehenge, The Great Pyramid of Giza and the Parthenon.
This wireframe image shows the construction of the logo and its
relationship with the golden ratio, Fibonacci sequence and formation of
Trapezoids, Pentagram/gons and Asps (snakes).
